ORDINATIONS IN MANCHESTER
The picture above was taken at the ordination of David Worsley to the diaconate on Friday 6th October 2006 at St John the Baptist Church, Manchester. The following day David was ordained to the priesthood and celebrated his first Mass on the Sunday. David’s ministry in Manchester has been brief because already he had made plans to move to Spain with his wife, Joe, to establish a mission among the expatriates from the UK who have settled there. On Sunday 19th August this year (in the presence of Bishop Wright) Fr. David celebrated Mass for the last time at St John’s and two days later sailed with Joe to Spain to begin a new and challenging ministry.
DIOCESAN CONFERENCE 19th MAY 2007
The Diocesan Conference took place once again at the Beacon Hall, Peasedown St John. Fr. Osmond Newnham celebrated the Conference Mass on behalf of Bishop Wright. The Conference was well supported even though some members were unable to attend for medical reasons. After Lunch came the business meeting of the Conference. Much of the business followed the required routine. Of particular importance was the Report of the Trust Treasurer, Mr Rodney Hume who reported on a sound financial position thanks to the continuing generous support of the members. The five Trustees of 2005-6 were re-elected for the ensuing period up to the next Diocesan Conference. Bishop Wright gave an account of his attendance with Bishop Banzana at the Ecclesiastical Congress sponsored by the Holy Catholic Church - Western Rite at Kansas City the previous October, as also a report on his visit with Mrs Pam Wright to the Annual Conference of the Diocese of Umzi wase Tiyopiya in January. The Conference was a welcome opportunity for our scattered membership to meet together in fellowship.
